Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to learn to count cards here, including people with disabilities.
The standard we follow
The site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard referred to by accessibility law in the United States and the European Union. It partially meets it: see the known limitations below.
What we have done
- The whole site, including the drills and tests, works with a keyboard alone.
- Text contrast is at least 4.5:1, in both the dark and the light theme.
- The result of each answer is announced to screen readers.
- Animations stop when your device is set to reduce motion.
- Buttons are large enough to tap comfortably.
- Every timed drill starts with a three-second count-in, and any test can be stopped and started over.
Known limitations
- In the card counting course, 21 of the 43 levels have a time limit, either on each answer or in the pace cards are dealt. In the basic strategy course, 6 of the 37 levels give each hand a time limit of 4 to 7 seconds. Speed is the skill those levels train, so the limit cannot be switched off or paused mid-test; in both courses, the untimed levels before them teach the same content without a clock.
- The site has not yet been tested with screen readers such as NVDA and VoiceOver.
Compatibility
The site is tested in Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge, at desktop and phone screen widths.
